Neat at the forefront in the digitalization of telecare services

Plug & Play telecare

The health crisis that both Spain and the world are experiencing requires assistive technology manufacturing companies to take a step forward quickly and forcefully in order to offer telecare service providers professional solutions that protect health and safety of the most vulnerable sector of the population, our elders.

Neat has responded to this need with a next-generation solution, its Plug & Play Advanced Digital Telecare System.

The installation, configuration and monitoring of digital telecare terminals is carried out remotely thanks to a powerful IoT (Internet of Things) terminal management platform developed by Neat. The user only must plug the device into an electrical outlet and the installer, from a central office, ensures that the system is operational in a matter of minutes.

This responsible advanced telecare initiative allows the massive and remote deployment of terminals in homes and is proving to be very successful in promoting zero contact, since it prevents the installer and the end user from physically coinciding, which completely eliminates the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

In addition to the essential advantages of protecting the health and safety of the user, this advanced digital system breaks with the paradigm of traditional social care and opens up a world of possibilities, becoming the ideal highway to offer advanced services, such as analysis of user habits in real time and the prediction of behaviour patterns to design individualized care plans, the creation of connected homes through sensors, push buttons, home automation, location devices, fall detectors, etc. and prevention and monitoring chronic diseases through the integration of telemedicine systems that monitor vital signs.

In this same sense, it should be noted that this type of technology collaborates in the provision of inclusive services by allowing care to be taken to more people and to isolated places.

However, above all the benefits that Neat’s Advanced Digital Telecare Plug & Play System is capable of offering, there is the most relevant of all: the fact that this technology favours placing people at the centre of the care facilitating providing users with a comprehensive model of social and health services that includes an emotional monitoring service aimed at mitigating the unwanted loneliness that elderly people suffer to a greater extent, especially in circumstances of confinement.

Neat technology is a specialist in helping its clients in creating the ideal conditions for the elderly, so that they can meet their real needs: to live in peace, security and autonomy for much longer in their own homes.

Neat is an open and innovative company, adapted to the new digital standards, therefore, the Plug & Play System for advanced digital telecare is a modern, efficient solution, guaranteeing safety. The system uses the Social Care Alarm Internet Protocol, SCAIP. This Scandinavian protocol is designed to work with digital communication infrastructures and was implemented to provide greater security, reliability and control when sending information in the social and healthcare sector.

Thanks to the high level of satisfaction of service providers and users with digital technology, Neat has become a benchmark both in Spain and internationally. Today, more than 150,000 Neat digital terminals have already been deployed around the world and the number is growing daily.

NEAT technology is ready to help healthcare personnel in the COVID-19 crisis

Deployment of wireless patient-nurse call system in record time.

Nurse call system

At Neat we are aware that the coronavirus health crisis that in all the world are going through requires immediate and forceful solutions that facilitate its management and contribute to improving the care of patients.

Faced with this need, Neat makes available to sites enabled for the care of coronavirus patients such as field hospitals, medicalized hotels, etc. its wireless patient-nurse call system, a simple and effective technology.

At this time of crisis, it is required that the setting up of temporary hospitals be ready quickly and efficiently. The implementation of this wireless solution is carried out in a few hours without affecting the pace of work of professionals, so that this system collaborates in responding to the urgent needs of healthcare.

Neat’s intention is to collaborate in supporting the organization of work in a more effective way, alleviating the burden on health personnel and allowing them to offer more complete and higher quality care.

The solution is completely wireless and consists of bed and bath buttons for patients and receivers for healthcare personnel.

The push buttons can be attached or hung on the beds. The patient only has to pull the device or press a button to request assistance. Since the receivers are portable, professionals are fully mobile and can receive the patient’s call at any point in the healthcare facility where they are.

In Italy, Neat has joined the support of field hospitals installed in the areas most affected by the COVID-19. The Italian government has asked our technology distributor in that country for hospital management equipment to support healthcare. More than 500 patient devices and dozens of receivers for medical personnel are already in operation.

Marco Belleri, Sales Director of Exhibo, Neat’s technology distribution company in Italy, showed that this solution is demonstrating its effectiveness in responding to the health crisis in Italy by helping professionals offer faster and more complete care « This type of equipment is normally used in field hospitals or, in general, in all those emergency situations where a fast, safe and mobile system is needed to help patients admitted to corridors, premises or makeshift facilities not equipped with a nurse-call system ». From Neat “we want to help mitigate this crisis as soon as possible,” he said.

Undoubtedly, the coronavirus crisis that plagues all regions requires that companies that manufacture social health technology and the rest of the sectors of society be responsible and work to overcome this situation among all.

At Neat, from our position, we will continue adding with our contribution by doing what we have known for more than 30 years: offering solutions that help the most fragile and those who need our support the most.

Neat Group gets updated ISO certificates

ISO SueciaWe are proud to announce that Neat Group has renewed ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certifications according to the new standards updated in 2015.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Changes introduced in the 2015 revision are intended to ensure that ISO 9001 continues to adapt to the changing environments in which organizations operate.

Some of the key updates in ISO 9001:2015 include the introduction of new terminology, restructuring some of the information, an emphasis on risk-based thinking to enhance the application of the process approach, improved applicability for services, and increased leadership requirements.

ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.

According to Thea Dunmire, President of ENLAR Compliance Services, as part of the effort to structure all ISO standards in the same way, the revisions introduced in the 2015 version of ISO 14001 include incorporating a required high-level structure, using mandatory definitions, and incorporating common standards requirements and clauses.

Finally, the ISO 27001 standard contributes to fostering information protection activities in organizations, improving their image and generating trust for third parties. Further, this certification promotes the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in order to ensure fundamental aspects in the management of it like only authorized persons can access the information; the methods of processing information are accurate and complete and authorizes users to have access to it at any time.

Maintaining the ISO certifications has been a complicated job in which all workers from Neat have been involved and led by our quality department, but we believe that it is necessary to maintain these standards in order to offer the best service to our customers.

NOVO blog v2 ENG

Neat has developed an innovative digital telecare terminal called NOVO; it is a completely new digital concept that will take telecare a step further. NOVO’s innovative design is intended to be integrated in home, optimize all its functionalities and offer highly competitive advantages. NOVO will allow service providers to offer the highest quality care.

The acoustic behavior of NOVO is a fundamental advantage that shows the technological evolution of this device, since the power of its speaker and the sensitivity of its microphone, combined with the most advanced algorithms in management of bidirectional voice communication, and even its compact and ergonomic shape have been deliberately designed to provide the user with a high quality audio experience, which undoubtedly results in a more efficient service.

NOVO’s end-to-end (E2E) system implements the latest generation of digital communication protocols, allowing it to be connected to the terminal manager on a constant basis and to ensure real-time remote monitoring. This supervision begins even before the installation, being possible, through the Terminal Management Portal (CMP) of Neat, to know the state of the equipment throughout its life cycle, from its inventory.

Likewise, NOVO simplifies the installation processes and allows modifying the specific configuration of a terminal or a group of terminals in a simple and safe way according to the needs of the client. In addition, this configuration can be carried out from any mobile or fixed device with Internet connection and from anywhere, thanks to its digital technology.

With NOVO, the firmware update is extremely safe, allowing efficient and uninterrupted service. Also, it has full capacity to be updated remotely; this applies to both programs and configurations. The centralized configuration management that integrates with CMP is ideal for maintaining a homogeneous terminal group.

It is important to note that NOVO goes a step further in energy efficiency, which together with a new concept of battery more developed allows it to maintain a complete, continuous and safe operation for several days with batteries.

Equally, when the NOVO is connected to a mobile telephone network, it is able to choose the telephone network provider whose signal is the best of the zone in which the terminal is operating and ensure a permanent service.

In addition to its many qualities, NOVO can communicate with up to 48 wireless peripherals simultaneously, which opens the doors to a connected digital home.

Neat has developed an integral telecare ecosystem that will guarantee the most advanced care service in the socio-health world.
